Pioneer’s Path

The Pioneer’s Path links the world-renowned ‘red heart’ landmarks of Uluru/Ayers Rock, Kata Tjuta/Mt Olga and Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) as it winds through Australia’s dramatic interior.

Named after the pioneers who shaped the region, this drive offers an opportunity to become immersed in the area’s cultural and natural history. As you look at the mountains try to imagine them millions of years ago – as tall as the Himalayas. Take a close look at the squiggly lines on the rocks at Kings Canyon, formed when this arid area was once an enormous sea.

Fly into Alice Springs or Uluru/Ayers Rock and rent a car to commence your drive holiday with a difference. This path is the gateway to an abundance of attractions and activities within a short timeframe.

The experiences will be varied, from bushwalking and camel riding, to learning about the local Aboriginal people’s connection with their land. You are sure to form memories that will never, never leave you.
